Important info on "Contributor Benefits"

Postby Draper » Thu Jan 19, 2006 5:25 pm

The Contributor Benefits listed on the "membership" page of the BOL website are incorrect. There is no other way of stating it. Tony had intended to keep up with them I am sure, but as he is the only person who can provide certain technical aspects such as private web space and email addresses, and he seems unavailable to do keep up with those (as well as other minor things on the site that need a fixin like the activities page and some other things. Anyway...

What I can do is give out titles, access to the Contributor forum (not that it is used much anyway), and person photo galleries (which I just discovered how to do).

Although in a technical sense, the special "memberships" have always been gifts--donations to BOL to help keep it up and running. I am sure that you all remember the closing scare back in the late Spring last year.

I am posting this announcement because I don't want to mislead anyone. (Tony is also the only person who can correct the membership page) so it will continue to have the wrong info up until it can be dealt with.

I just wanted to once again thank those few who give to BOL, Tony is getting slightly less than half of his operating costs, but I can tell you from him that he really appreciates all the help that he is getting.

As a contributer, I think the email and stuff is great but I think just having BOL is benefits enough for me. :P
