It's a few hundred dollars a month. Say, roughly $300.

I asked Tony, he said about $150.

Unfortunately, I could maybe only convince my parents to let me pay maybe $20 of that. Unless there is a (secretly) wealthy person here who wishes to foot the bill (or forever hold your peace ;)) then I guess this is goodbye. Thanks everyone for making it real (and nice, or whatever...) I'd like to give big thanks to Rob, Joe, and Tony (and, heck, to bigred too if he ever helped ;)) and to the others here, especially the other admins, and all the mods (past, present, or future.) There are a couple of other message forums we can meet up on and if anyone wants to talk to me after Bol's dead (perish the thought :-P ... no, about having to talk to me, though the fact that Bol's shutting down is also pretty bad) then they can get my e-mail and AIM from here, from PMing me, or from e-mailing me. Thanks so much everybody...

...goodbye...

I have a Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003 Premium Edition operating system that I would be willing to donate to anyone willing to take over BOL if it would be of help. It is NIB, unused.

Geez guys, out of all the members on BOL we can't put that together every month?
"Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is all and in all. Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, heartfelt compassion, kindness, gentleness, and patience, bearing with one another, if one has a grievance against another; as the Lord has forgiven you, so must you also do. And over all these put on love, that is, the bond of perfection."

If we can't do that, why don't we all just move to the Ultimate Board? :-D

it's small...but it might work.

Well I don't mean to sound like the bad guy or whatever. But maybe we should just let BOL go. It is getting annoying, and dumb hearing people say "I can donat 5" etc. I mean eventually you will run out of money. Your not going to be able to donate FOREVER. And BOL will eventually close. All good things must come to a end. There are many other ways to keep in touch with your friends. I myself was thinking about donateing, but I relized there are more worthwhile things. If I am going to give my money to anybody it would be people who really need it, a charity of some sort. I don't know. But thats just how I feel. I love BOL, and my time on here was awesome. I have met alot of my good friends on here, and well I think now it is time to say goodbye.

$150 isn't a lot of money...if we all donated $5 each, it would only take 30 people to get enough money! (and practically 30 people responded to this post!)

PM me the address to send my 'widows mite' to, and I'll give ya 5 bucks. :D

BOL is ending??? That goes ill... I have met some really good people here, and it is sad to hear that the reason is bad funds.

If it truly does go out, then good-bye everyone, but I hope that that will not be the case.

God bless!

BOL is not closing, however, the financial strain seems to be getting quite serious on poor Tony.

Read Tony's recent announcement post.

Tony wrote:Honestly I don't think I'll shut the site down if people are paying the cost of business. I just think it is a shame that it took me giving up and saying ok it's over before people took it seriously.

The bottom line is.. if you want BOL to stay online, then do something about it, I can't do this forever.

I know that more BOL members will contribute, and I will cover the rest if need be. I will not let the site go down for lack of money.

That doesn't mean you don't need to contribute any more!!! Draper is being very generous with that statement.
