Double posting

Postby hungryman287 » Mon Oct 16, 2006 3:39 pm

Within the last week I have noticed many people are double posting, that is posting one message and posting another in succession after it. This does a couple of things; first it clutters the board and second it inflates post counts. While it is true that not eveyone cares about post count it lowers the prestige of the site.

The exceptions for when double posting is allowed are as follows:
-In a debate when addressing different people.
-If there hasn't been a post on a particular topic for a few days and you had the last post, you could then post again.

There is an edit button on the top right of every post, please use it instead of posting twice in a row.

Thanks,
Brendan

Ditto. ^ :P Or in What Are You Listening To.

And sometimes I think I click submit twice or something without realizing it cause my laptop is weird. :-?
To die, to sleep;
To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub;
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
Must give us pause: there's the respect
That makes calamity of so long life;
For who would bear the whips and scorns of time,
The oppressor's wrong, the proud man's contumely,
The pangs of despised love, the law's delay,
The insolence of office and the spurns
That patient merit of the unworthy takes,
When he himself might his quietus make
With a bare bodkin?

Dude, my first post up there was originally a triple post. Apparently Brendan didn't see the humor in it though.

Makes sense to me...the only times I (normally) double post are when my compy messes up and it spits out two of the same message...

Thanks Brendan - I for one find double posts slightly annoying.

it lowers the prestige of the site

Prestige? What prestige?

Sorry, it's hard to have prestige on a site named "BoredOnline" . . . . :roll:

Not that I don't love BOL, but partly because it's so ALIVE and prestige just sounds sooo . . . stuffy.

Oh gosh, I have to apologize for this one -- I'm sorry, I never realized there was an edit button!
If someone accused you of being Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you?
